Sometimes it is necessary to send two stereo signals to one device, for example from the main outputs of two mixing consoles. In practice, this is rarely possible without a ground loop problem. RIVER main solves this type of problem. It mixes the two stereo input signals through the connection of resistors, with input pair A being galvanically isolated by a transformer to prevent ground loops. Palmer main operates purely passively. The result is extremely low noise and neutral sound. Thanks to the large transformers, it can handle high volume signals (up to +20 dBu) without distortion. The transformers also allow an unbalanced signal to be connected to input pair A, while the output signal remains symmetrical. Thanks to its passive, unpowered operation mode, the RIVER main is particularly reliable and fault-tolerant, aided by its aluminium-steel alloy chassis.
