The Gibson ES135 semi-hollowbody, made in 1997 in the USA in the model's second production run, is now out of production again.
Originally produced briefly between 1956 and 1958, it was reintroduced into production and with minor modifications between 1991 and 2004. Its main strengths are the sound characteristics of a lube guitar, with the possibility of use at higher volumes, which is possible due to the combination of a hollow body with a solid balsa wood centre block, so there is no feedback.
The instrument is in very good condition, all components are original! There are sticker marks on the headstock and after trying to peel it off afterwards, the paintwork looks scuffed but is original. Overall, it has a very pleasing patina. The sound is soft, full in the bass spectrum and nobly woody.
It is sold including a newer non-original case under the BAZAAR VAT scheme.
