This Paul Reed Smith model Starla was still made in the USA and is a guitar based on the Single Cut design. The body of this instrument is made of solid mahogany, compared to other PRS guitars the Starla is a bit thinner, hence lighter, but still having a long sustain. The neck, which is glued to the body, is made of mahogany wood, and on the top of the neck you will find a rosewood fingerboard. The gauge of the instrument is 622 mm, and there are 22 frets on the fingerboard, the position of which in this case is marked by the famous mother-of-pearl birds. The neck profile corresponds to the "Wide Fat" type, i.e. it is a rather wider and thicker neck, which fits the hand perfectly and allows very comfortable playing. The width of the zero fret corresponds to 42.8 mm.
The guitar is equipped with two PRS Starla pickups. These are humbucker type pickups with AlNiCo magnets, specifically Treble models at the headstock and Bass models at the neck. You can switch between them with a standard 3-position switch, and there are volume and tone shutter potentiometers for precise sound adjustment. With this configuration, it's really no problem to set any sound, whether crystal clear, distorted or richly distorted tone positions.
At the headstock, the strings are mounted in high-quality PRS Vintage Style tuning machines, while on the other side they run through a solid-bearing tune-o-matic tailpiece from the renowned Grover company into a Bigsby B5 tremolo. This combination is characterized by unusually high tuning stability and great sustain. The hardware of the instrument is in nickel finish.
There are surface cosmetic scratches and dings that do not affect the sound or stability of this sonically versatile guitar.
The guitar is sold in a second hand VAT condition including the original deluxe case.
