The KIKO100-TRR electric guitar is the signature model of Kiko Loureiro, a Brazilian guitarist known for his involvement in the famous American metal band Megadeth and his long-standing involvement in the Brazilian metal band Angra.
The alder body of the guitar is adorned with a spectacular veneer of flamed maple with wood grain supported by a Transparent Ruby Red finish. Glued to the five-piece maple and walnut neck is a rosewood fingerboard fitted with twenty-four jumbo-sized frets. Orientation on the fingerboard surface is facilitated by position dots and a distinctive inlay on the twelfth fret. Rounded fret edges (Prestige fret edge treatment), fingerboard picking between the 19th and 24th fret for easier note picking and tapping, and a deeper shaped lower body cutout contribute to increased playing comfort.
The signature KIKO pickup setup from renowned brand DiMarzio matches the artist's wide genre range - from metal to jazz fusion. Thus, compared to typical metal high-output pickups, the humbuckers offer a lower output and a more balanced sound in terms of frequency response, while the center single-coil has a stronger output and a hotter sound than traditional vintage single-coils. The Push/Pull volume control function expands the standard sound options to include split-coil configurations. In total, the guitar offers nine different pickup/sound configurations.
The strings are housed in Gotoh tuning machines and an Edge double-turn tremolo, which you can use to add impressive sound effects to your playing. Tuning stability is guaranteed by locks on the zero fret.
