The Koch Jupiter Junior Combo is a guitar hybrid combo with boutique styling and 20 watts of power. It offers three switchable channels, i.e. a clean warm sound (Cool), a warm blues and rock overdrive (Hot) and a more predatory saturated hard rock tone (Hot Gain Boost). The two 12AX7 tubes are split between the preamp and final amp sections, and the rest of the transistor circuit successfully simulates the feel of full-amp machines thanks to ATR (Authentic Tube Response) technology.
Traditional volume, distortion and EQ (three-band EQ) controls are complemented by a built-in spring reverb control and a Dimmer that works as a power attenuator (from 0 to 20W). More modern features are encountered on the rear panel in the form of a mono output (Recording) with passive speaker emulation that connects the combo directly to a recording device or PA. The rear panel also offers a serial effects loop with a buffer for integrating your favorite modulation, reverb or delay pedal effects that sound much better in the loop than in front of the machine, an output to an external speaker box (8 ohm impedance), a Speaker On/Off switch for silent recording (turning off the speaker does not damage the machine) and an input for the included two-channel footswitch.
At the heart of the cabinet is a ten-inch Jensen Falcon C10-40 speaker. The function of the second switch of the included footswitch (Gain Boost or Reverb on/off) is selected on the rear panel.
