The single-cut (T) model Classic T Antique is a guitar that you will not let go of. The mud ash body is covered in an ultra-thin nitro lacquer, and the subtle patina gives the instrument the feel of an already well-proven gigging partner - though of course this is a brand new piece. Twenty-two Medium (.055 "x.090") stainless steel frets divide the maple fingerboard surface. The 60's C Vintage Medium maple neck profile and compound fingerboard radius (9-12 inches) also contribute to the instrument's excellent playability.
Two single-coil Classic T pickups with Alnico 5 Special magnets give the guitar a superbly clear sound with a modern Tele fretboard "made by Suhr" - and thanks to SSCII technology, completely free of the characteristic annoying single-coil noise. Standard sound adjustments include a volume control, tone control and three-position pickup switch.
Tuning stability, great sustain and fast string changes are guaranteed by the TusQ zero fret string attachment in the company's 18:1 ratio locking gears and a solid Wilkinson cob with three brass saddles and string anchor through the body.
The guitar is supplied in a case.
John Suhr has over 35 years of musical instrument building experience under his belt, during which time he has made a deep mark on the musical community with top-of-the-line "Pensa-Suhr" (as guitar builder) guitar and bass models that have been played by Mark Knopfler, Eric Clapton, Peter Frampton, Lou Reed and many others in the 1980s, or as a Senior Master Builder in the Fender Custom Shop in the 1990s. However, John didn't have complete control over the entire manufacturing process, so in 1997 he decided to start his own Suhr brand. So you can be assured of the highest possible standards of quality when it comes to Suhr guitars, basses, instruments or pedal effects. Permanent clients of the Suhr brand include Peter Frampton, Michael Landau, Scott Henderson and Doug Aldrich.
