Compadre is a high-end compressor and booster that gives your guitar or bass sound pure studio-quality analog compression. The input Class JFET circuit, pure analog compression and musically tuned analog booster circuitry will give your guitar/bass the sonic sheen of amps/combos modified by top boutique manufacturers.
The box offers two types of compression - the Studio mode will give your sound the warm transparent compression of rack-mounted gear in recording studios, while the second Squeeze mod is ideal for more compression with maximum sustain. Auto makeup gain and auto threshold equals one less thing to worry about - all you need to adjust the compression is to set the Compression knob and specify the amount of clean signal with the Dry (parallel compression) knob. The analogue section of the booster also offers two settings - clean boost and dirty boost with the subtle clipping familiar from overdrive pedals. A three-position Boost EQ switch (treble, mid, flat) adjusts the character of the sound so that it always stands out, no matter what combination of pickups and amplifier you use. The Level control (-6db to +6dB) optimizes the pedal effect output signal with the rest of the rigs.
In addition to the standard mono inputs/outputs, this compressor also offers a volume pedal input (VCA based) and a FAV/MIDI input to connect external switches (Strymon MiniSwitch, MultiSwitch Plus) or MIDI devices (using the Strymon MIDI EXP Cable adapter) to the compressor. This way you can store and recall your favorite preset/favorites settings (Up to 300 presets via MIDI, 3 presets via MultiSwitch Plus). The compressor can be set as true bypass or buffered bypass. The included 9V adapter is used for power supply.
