The natural feel of real piano mechanics
The N2 delivers an authentic playing experience that is virtually indistinguishable from an acoustic piano. With the same natural wood keyboard found on the finest Yamaha pianos, the N2 offers a realistic playing feel that is sure to inspire. With the AvantGrand, you have the sounds of two legendary Yamaha CFX and Bösendorfer Imperial concert grand pianos at your disposal. Whether you prefer the lively and expansive sound palette of the CFX or the warmth and richness of the Imperial's Viennese sound, switching between the two is simple. You can then enrich your chosen sound with natural reverb and five types of brillance effect that simulate the echo of large concert halls. The damper pedal also has a very authentic feel, allowing you to use the half-pedal technique as on a classical acoustic piano, giving you more control over sustain and reverb. You'll also get a great playing experience when you plug in your headphones thanks to advanced binaural technology. This technology uses piano samples recorded with special microphones that capture placement data and other nuances discernible to the human ear. The resulting sound is so natural and enveloping that you'll soon forget you're actually using headphones.
Intelligent integration options
Hidden behind the simple control panel with its clear display is a wealth of options for connecting and extending the functionality and integrating the instrument with other devices. The tool can be directly connected to computers and mobile devices via USB, to audio and recording systems via audio cables, it also works as a Bluetooth receiver and can be connected to iOS apps via WiFi. The seductive elegance of the instrument fits into any space and will brighten up any home, classroom or concert hall.
Spatial placement of the sound system
This instrument uses a four-channel, multi-speaker system arranged in a three-way configuration with the woofers facing down and the tweeters facing up to further bring out the natural reverberation and vibration of the soundboard. Each of the speakers in this arrangement is equipped with its own amplifier - a luxury that avoids interference in individual frequency bands and offers more natural expressiveness and subtle nuances for each tone. Additionally, by placing the speakers in the positions from which the sounds from the original acoustic instrument were sampled, the AvantGrand offers an even more natural sound for the player sitting behind the instrument.
Soundboard resonator
In addition to the four-channel multi-speaker configuration, the AvantGrand also offers a flat "Soundboard Resonator" in the music stand area, further aiding the authenticity of the sound and feel of playing like an acoustic piano. The oscillator transfers vibrations to the flat panel of the resonator, providing a realistic sound response that is especially noticeable in the upper range.
Touch response system
The sound of an acoustic piano resonates through its entire body. Particularly in the bass section, reverberation and vibration are an essential part of the sound, which is transmitted to the pianist's body. In the AvantGrand series, our newly developed TRS touch response system focuses on this area and takes care of the transmission of these vibrations. The system features two transducers in the area below the keyboard that transmit the natural vibrations to the entire instrument.
