The E-II Eclipse DB electric guitar is a single-cut that catches the eye at first glance with its contrasting black body design and distinctive gold trim. The body of the instrument itself is made of mahogany with a maple top. The glued mahogany neck with a Thin U profile is joined by an ebony fingerboard fitted with twenty-two Extra Jumbo frets. Orientation on its surface is facilitated by mother-of-pearl position blocks.
Two active EMG humbuckers provide the instrument's sound with the necessary fullness and precise articulation for vocal solos or chord breakdowns, as well as density and aggression for ultra-fast guitar shred and sharply chiseled rock and metal riffs. Other quality components used include a solid Gotoh TOM headstock and truss rod, Gotoh Locking mechanisms and Schaller rolls.
ESP has been manufacturing electric guitars since 1984 and satisfied customers include Kirk Hammet, James Hettfield, Ronnie Wood and Max Cavalera.
