First introduced in 1958, this guitar was intended to be more high-end than the Stratocaster or Telecaster. Although it was built mainly for jazz musicians, it made its name mainly through surf rock, and today it is presented by many guitarists from the alternative rock waters. Produced between 1958 and 1977, it has been back in production since 1993.
