ESP has been manufacturing electric guitars since 1984 and its satisfied customers include Kirk Hammett, James Hetfield, Ronnie Wood and Max Cavalera. Due to the popularity of these instruments, a subsidiary company LTD was created to offer popular models in an affordable version. However, even in the case of ESP-LTD guitars, great emphasis is placed on the quality of workmanship and fitted components. For a fraction of the price you can have a very high quality instrument that stands behind many a famous riff.
The mahogany body in single-cut shape is decorated with a triple rim to accentuate its contours. The three-piece mahogany neck is glued to a roasted jatoba fingerboard fitted with twenty-two Extra Jumbo frets. The U-shaped neck and the 629 mm gauge ensure comfortable and fast playing. Reliable tuning is ensured by a closed LTD movement and a solid Tune-o-matic (TOM) headstock in a nice gold finish (as is all the guitar's hardware).
Sound pickups are handled by two ESP Designed LH-150 humbuckers, which can be controlled by volume potentiometers for each pickup and a tone shutter that features a Push/Pull function. The latter allows you to unzip the coils of the humbuckers and enjoy a pure single-coil sound. Together with the three-position switch, this gives the guitar six different pickup connections, making it easy to set the guitar to the sound you want, whatever your preferences.
