The BlueTube DP is a dual channel microphone/instrument preamplifier with Dual Path technology, offering the best of both tube and transistor preamplifier technologies. Each channel offers -20dB pad, phase reversal, 80Hz HP filter and phantom power (+48V). On the front you'll also find Gain and tube drive settings, which you can either turn off completely or add as desired. Signal levels are displayed by classic analogue VU needle meters with backlighting. Outputs are both symmetrical (XLR) and unbalanced (6.3mm jack).
PreSonus' popular Class A XMAX™ preamplifiers are widely praised for their clear and transparent sound. Tube preamps, on the other hand, excel with a warm, smooth sound. The BlueTube DP combines both to achieve a high-quality sound with a set tube coloration. So it's no wonder it's becoming a classic.
Presonus has now improved it in the form of the BlueTube DP v2. The solid-state path is now provided by Class A XMAX™ preamps with variable gain up to 80dB. The warm sound in the tube path is taken care of by the 12AX7 tube, operating at twice the voltage of other preamps in this class, thus providing a more spacious sound with lower noise, high-end clarity and an even smoother tube sound than its predecessor.
