The Zoom MS-50G is a pumped-up multi-effect and amp modeler built into a compact standard pedal effect chassis. With a range of 100 effects for electric guitars (divided into dynamics/filter, overdrive/distortion, amp, modulation/special effects, delay/reverb), intuitive user interface, integrated chromatic tuner and very affordable price, it is sure to become a part of many guitarists' kit.
The Dynamics/Filter section contains 25 compressors, equalizers and filters (including AutoWah, Slow Attack, Cry and emulations of MXR Dyna Comp, Moog MF-101 and Z. Vex Seek-Wah).
Overdrive/Distortion offers 32 sounds of overdrive effects, boosters, fuzz and distortion pedals (simulations of OSS OD-1, DS-1, Metal Zone, Ibanez TS808, MXR Distortion+, Matchless Hot Box, Electro-Harmonix Big Muff and Pro Co Rat).
The 22 amp simulations include simulations of classic and contemporary tube and transistor instruments from brands such as Fender, Marshall, Mesa Boogie, Two Rock, Diezel, and ENGL.
In the modulation effects subset, you'll discover 39 guitar effects including chorus, phaser, flanger, tremolo, vibrato, detuning effect, auto-panning, leslie speaker emulation, and pitch shifter/harmonizer. Individual sounds include Boss CH-1 Super Chorus and ADA flanger simulations.
The Delay/Reverb section offers a wide range of mono and stereo delay effects (delay time up to 4 seconds) including reverse, modulated and self-oscillating delay effects plus rich-sounding reverb effects such as hall, room, plate, spring reverb and more.
Up to six selected effects can be used simultaneously (in any order). The total number of effects can be expanded to 172 thanks to a firmware update option (MS-50G Effect Manager). The pedal also offers 50 user memories for storing your favourite presets/patches (the box is offered with 30 presets), stereo/mono connectivity, a chromatic tuner supporting a variety of different tunings (including drop tuning), tap tempo function and a clear LCD display.
The pedal effect can be powered by two included AA batteries or an adapter (Zoom AD-16 for example).
