The key to its sonic flexibility is its innovative circuitry, featuring a transinpedance input amplifier, along with a phase-matched tube and float transistor, all then summed into a single output. The ratio between the 310V powered tube stage operating in Class A and the transistor stage is adjusted using a mixing potentiometer. This mixing takes place between the 100% state of the transistor stage and the 100% state of the tube stage, thus providing endless sonic possibilities.
Like all other preamplifiers, the 710 is modeled after them and features a gain control and an output level control that can radically alter coloration and distortion by setting the gain high and output level low. On the UV meter, equipped with a unique "drive" mode, you can see how much the signal is already colored or distorted.
Versatility makes the 710 an ideal partner for all kinds of microphones, plus the ability, thanks to the JFET DI input, to connect other studio equipment or instruments directly. Guitarists and bassists in particular will appreciate this feature and get the best sound from their instrument, whether with passive or active pickups. The 710 Twin-Finity was designed and built by UA, based in California. Included in the package is a 19" rack mount adapter for one or two units.
