BLIMP with the Rycote® Lyre internal cushioning system provides the microphone with maximum cushioning and isolation from unwanted noise. This system is made from a single piece of durable thermoplastic, making it acoustically and mechanically superior to standard elastic suspension solutions - nothing cracks, loses flexibility or wears out.
Compared to the previous version, the handle has been completely redesigned, which has significantly reduced the weight of the product while increasing comfort and ergonomics during manual use. The high quality and strong Mogami brand cable, located inside the handle, is converted inside the BLIMP via a junction box to a highly flexible thin cable to minimize vibration transmission to the microphone.
The lightweight handle design and suspension system makes the BLIMP over 25% lighter than the previous version (550g without microphone or DeadWombat).
The BLIMP can be connected to any standard boompole via a 3/8" thread. In this case, the handle can be removed and a Universal Blimp Mount (must be purchased) can be used to further reduce the overall weight.
Included in the package is a Dead Wombat windproof cover, cleaning brush and connecting cable.
