Laney's LX Series are the right choice for beginner or more advanced players because they offer quality sound wrapped in a package that's affordably priced. While these are the entry-level line of guitars that this British manufacturer offers, there's certainly no reason to worry that they'll be ripped off in any way - you can expect a beautiful clean and a very accomplished heavily distorted sound from the LX, and anything in between. What these combos are built to do, the Laney LXs do it to a tee.

Specifically, the LX 35 is the second largest member of this family. This 2-channel transistor unit, whose channels can be switched by footswitch, has a power output of 30W and is equipped with a 10-inch diameter speaker. It is therefore the ideal solution for home practice, playing with friends or even in a small band.

All controls can be found on the front panel. Behind the guitar input is the Volume control for adjusting the overall volume and the On switch, which activates the second channel and the associated Crunch potentiometer, which adjusts the strength of the distortion, and the Master control, which helps the distorted channel to produce a distorted sound at the same time as a reasonable volume. Both channels share the same EQ corrections, i.e. the Bass, Middle and Treble potentiometers. The final elements are a headphone output, an RCA stereo input for connecting devices such as CD or mp3 players, and an external speaker output, so you can use the LX35 at larger events where more pressure and volume are needed. Just in front of these, however, is a Reverb potentiometer that adjusts the level of this built-in effect.
