Zoom H8

The ZOOM H8 is a pocket-sized digital recorder with an interchangeable microphone capsule that fulfills all the needs you expect from a professional recording device. The XYH-6 microphone capsule is included.

The recorder is capable of recording sound sources up to 140 dB loud, which is equivalent to the noise level of an airplane taking off. This gives you the opportunity to record everything up close, louder and with better quality.

A huge advantage of this recorder is the interchangeable microphone capsules. Thanks to them, you can adapt your recorder to any situation. In addition to the included XYH-6, which is excellent for stereo recording in XY mode, the ambisonic microphone VRH-8 is a great extension.

The H8 offers 4 XLR inputs with dedicated attenuation switches and gain control. An additional 2 XLR/TRS combo jacks with Hi-Z switches allow you to capture line level signals or directly record electric guitars and basses in addition to mic sources. All inputs have three-level phantom power +12/+24/+48V.

The recorder does a great job of recording music, with 10 inputs and 12 tracks, so you can record a large group of musicians. Use EQ and compression to mix, overdub and enhance your recordings. Connect to the Guitar Lab app via USB to access a range of amps and other effects. A tuner is also available in the recorder. For sound design, conferencing, field recording, and more, the Field app comes in handy. Zoom H8 is also suitable for podcast recording, where you can use the Sound Pads to trigger sound effects, background music, etc. You can choose from 13 internal sounds, but of course you can also load your own from the SD card.

The H8 has a stereo line output, headphone output and thanks to the USB interface the recorder can be used as an audio interface for tablets and computers. In addition, the integrated speaker allows instant playback and control of recordings. You can then monitor the recording progress on the clear colour LCD touch screen.

The Zoom H8 can be powered using four AA batteries with an operating time of approximately 20 hours or without limitation via an adapter. Data is stored on SD or SDHC cards with a capacity of up to 128 GB.
