Zoom H6essential

The Zoom H6essential is the most durable and flexible pocket recorder, voice recorder and powerful recording device in its category.

The Zoom H6essential is a multi-purpose six-track recording device that offers excellent 32-bit recording quality, great built-in condenser microphones in a stereo X/Y configuration, and four XLR/TRS combo inputs for connecting additional microphones and line-level signals. This gives users and creators more options for recording their music, podcasts and audio for video.

Sound
With 32-bit resolution recording, you never have to worry about precise sensitivity settings. The H6essential captures every nuance of your audio, ensuring high-quality recording in any situation. The four combined XLR/Jack 6.3 mm TRS inputs feature ultra-clean Zoom preamps that support phantom power and +4 dBu professional line level signals. Built-in microphones in an X/Y layout capture clear stereo sound up to 135 dB SPL, equivalent to the volume of an airplane taking off. Audio recording is stored on SDXC-enabled SD cards with up to 1 TB of capacity, allowing you to record hours and hours of audio at maximum quality.

Controls
The recording and rotary controls have been carefully designed to allow quiet operation. The high contrast OLED display makes it easy to navigate the simple interface. Use the built-in speaker to listen to your recordings for quick reference. There is a special Marker button for instantly setting reference points while recording. The Essential range has been designed with blind and partially sighted users in mind. Operate the recorder with voice navigation via the built-in speaker or headphones. Choose from several essential languages (English, Spanish, French, Japanese, German, Italian or Chinese).

Recording and streaming
Stream audio in 32-bit resolution and simultaneously upload it to an SD card. When connected to a PC, Mac, iOS or Android device via the USB-C port, the H6essential can be used as an audio audio interface with 6 inputs and 2 outputs. With the built-in mixer, you can easily adjust the audio level of each track and visually monitor their recording.

Something for everyone
With six recording channels, it's easy to create a high-quality live recording of a concert or band demo. Features like overdubbing and playback speed adjustment are great for songwriting and practicing. H6essential is also great for filmmakers. Record and send audio directly to the camera or use it to record multi-channel sound effects to enhance a scene. Podcasters can use the XLR inputs with external microphones for large group discussions and X/Y microphones for on-the-go interviews. The H6essential has advanced features such as overdubbing, pre-recording, auto-recording and playback speed adjustment.

Wireless control
Use the Bluetooth BTA-1 adapter (not included) to pair with your iOS device and remotely control the record button, adjust mix settings, and take advantage of other wireless control options. With the Bluetooth BTA-1 adapter, you can also pair your device with timecode transmission to sync audio and video.

Camera-friendly
Use the 3.5mm output to connect to a camera or connect headphones for monitoring. The microphone/line input (Jack 3.5 mm) can be used with lapel microphones to record dialogues.

Variable recording capsules
The XYH-6e detachable stereo microphone capsule that is included adds 2 high quality microphones in a stereo X/Y arrangement. This option is most sensitive to the sound directly in front of you while capturing a clear stereo image. The SSH-6e Stereo Shotgun Capsule (not included, optional accessory) is a combination of a super directional microphone for capturing sound in the center and a figure-of-eight microphone for capturing sound from the left and right. The ratio of the two microphones is adjustable from monophonic to ultra-wide stereo pickup. Use the center microphone to capture dialogue and then mix in the desired amount of ambient sound captured by the side microphone. The EXH-6e input module (not included, optional accessory) is available, if you need more inputs, just connect the EXH-6e XLR/TRS dual combo to extend the recording capability via two external microphones or line signals.
