The instrument's layered body is composed of a spruce plywood top and a plywood back and sides made of veneered maple. A fingerboard made of modern composite material is glued to the mahogany neck, which is attached to the body at the fourteenth fret as standard. Orientation on its surface is traditionally facilitated by position dots. The strings are held in chrome die-cast mechanics and a composite headstock via plastic zero and saddle frets.
Sound reinforcement is provided by a Barcus Berry preamp with a four-band EQ and integrated tuner built into the guitar's back.
The American company Washburn has been making acoustic instruments for a really long time - since 1883. In that time, it has created countless guitars, mandolins, banjos and accumulated a wealth of experience.
