The EQ series of strings from the American company Cleartone is unique in that it uses different metals and alloys for each of the six strings. For each string, the material is chosen to accentuate its frequency characteristics and natural sound. The E bass string is wound with pure copper, which makes deep bass tones stand out. The A and D strings are wound with phosphor-bronze to ensure full, resonant mids. The G string is an 80/20 bronze alloy, giving it a more piercing sound that stands out beautifully throughout the set. The result of this mix is a full, frequency-balanced tone that gives space to the full spectrum of frequencies.

These strings, like other Cleartone strings, feature an innovative finish. Their special microscopic coating creates a protective layer of one micrometer that protects the strings from dirt and corrosion, while not dampening their acoustic properties. Compared to conventional coated strings, you get a natural and clear sound and don't have to worry about the unpleasant fraying that coated strings often suffer from.
