D'Angelico Deluxe Series guitars represent the best of the D'Angelico brand. In addition to superior craftsmanship, they boast features previously reserved only for the top-of-the-line D'Angelico limited edition models.
The Deluxe 59 Trans Wine bark guitar is a modernized version of John D'Angelico's 1959 vintage original. The guitar's slightly narrower and sixteen-inch-wide body is made of laminated mahogany. Glued to the three-piece maple and walnut neck is an ebony fingerboard fitted with twenty-two Jescar 47/104 pakfong (nickel silver) frets. The neck's narrow C profile ensures smooth finger movement on the fingerboard and a comfortable fingerboard finish, while orientation on the fingerboard is facilitated by Mother of Pearl split-block position blocks.
Two Seymour Duncan D'Angelico Great Dane P-90 pickups exclusively made for the D'Angelico brand provide the guitar with a wide range of sonic colors - from the beautifully warm tones of jazz boxes to the brighter more articulate tones that stand out in country, rock and roll, rockabilly, classic rock and many other genres. Adjust the contours of the sound using the standard controls.
The body of the guitar is balanced by the company's signature Art Deco headstock adorned with a mother-of-pearl inlay and company logo. Stable tuning and good sustain are guaranteed by the attachment of the strings through the bone zero fret in Grover 509 Super Rotomatic Locking mechanisms and through the TOM stringboard in the string and Art Deco style. The guitar's luxurious workmanship is accentuated by a satin semi-transparent finish, multi-layered body, fingerboard and headstock binding, five-ply Scalini pickguard, gold hardware and vintage touches in the form of cupcake potentiometer caps or chickenhead design pickup switches.
The guitar comes in a deluxe hardshell case.
