D'Angelico Deluxe Series guitars represent the best of the D'Angelico brand. In addition to superior craftsmanship, they boast features previously reserved only for the top-of-the-line D'Angelico limited edition models.
The D'Angelico Deluxe SS Baritone Satin Honey is a semi-hollowbody guitar in a single-cut design with a longer baritone scale, which of course comes with the instrument's lower tuning. Its 15-inch wide body is made of laminated maple. A lightweight center block stiffens the soundboard and counteracts the unwanted "binding" effect of the lube body.
Glued to the three-piece maple and walnut neck is an ebony fingerboard fitted with twenty-two Jescar 47/104 frets made of pakfong (nickel silver). The neck's narrow C profile ensures smooth finger movement on the fingerboard and a comfortable fingerboard finish; orientation on the fingerboard is facilitated by Mother of Pearl split-block position blocks.
Two Seymour Duncan D'Angelico Great Dane P-90 pickups exclusively made for the D'Angelico brand capture all the nuances in the bass and give the guitar a wide spectrum of sonic colours - from beautifully warm tones to brighter more articulate tones that stand out in country, rock and roll, rockabilly, classic rock and many other genres. Adjust the contours of the sound using the standard controls.
The body of the guitar is balanced by the company's signature Art Deco headstock adorned with a mother-of-pearl inlay and company logo. Stable tuning and good sustain are guaranteed by the attachment of the strings through the bone zero fret in Grover 509 Super Rotomatic Locking mechanisms and through the TOM headstock in the Art Deco style stringers. The guitar's luxurious finish is accentuated by a satin semi-transparent finish, multi-layer body, fingerboard and headstock binding, Scalini five-ply pickguard, ebony potentiometer caps and gold hardware.
The guitar comes in a deluxe hardshell case.
