The Fender Tom DeLonge Starcaster is a semi-hollowbody electric guitar made in collaboration with Tom DeLonge, guitarist of the American punk rock band Blink-182. This signature model thus extends the range of not very well-known, but damn interesting, Fender Starcaster designs from the second half of the 1970s.
The guitar's asymmetrical arched body is made of laminated maple. A rosewood fingerboard with twenty-two Medium Jumbo frets is glued to a bolted roasted maple neck. The "Modern C" neck profile and twelve-inch fingerboard radius give the guitar a modern feel and great playability. The position dots made of imitation mother-of-pearl make it easy to orient the fingerboard.
The Seymour Duncan SH-5 Duncan Custom humbucker with its finely wound coils, small ceramic magnet and milder (medium output) output provides the guitar with a juicy sound that the manufacturer likens to a PAF humbucker on steroids. You adjust its character using the volume potentiometer with Treble Bleed circuit (allowing you to turn down the volume without accentuating the bass frequencies).
The strings are mounted in the company's locking tuning machines and through a fully adjustable six-saddle cob in the stringboard. The stylishness of the instrument is accentuated by the artist's signature graphics on the back of the headstock and a custom neck plate.
