The front of the AE100-BUF is made of solid Sitka spruce, while the back and sides are made of plywood. A 20-fret fig fingerboard is glued to the exotic nyatoh wood neck. Carefully designed reduced X-M ribbing and rib placement ensures efficient transmission of string vibrations through the fingerboard to the body. An interesting feature is the specifically designed hole in the back of the instrument (A.I.R.port), which allows you to hear and feel what you are playing better.
The strings are mounted in chrome die-cast gears with an 18:1 gear ratio and a purpleheart fingerboard. Ibanez Advantage pegs offer advantages over standard models in terms of ease of handling and tight string attachment. The stylish workmanship is accentuated by the white body surround, pearl rosette (abalone) and position markers in a special design.
Sound pickups are handled by an Ibanez T-bar pickup and Ibanez AEQ-TP2 preamp with volume control, two-band EQ and built-in tuner. The signal from the guitar can be output via a standard instrument cable (6.3 mm jack) or a balanced XLR output.
