The body of the instrument is made of laminated maple and the center block is made of chambered mahogany, which runs the entire length of the body and, in addition to reinforcing the guitar's soundboard, helps eliminate the unwanted "binding" effect. Glued to the nato neck with a Thin "U" profile is a fig fingerboard fitted with twenty-two Medium Jumbo frets. Orientation on its surface is facilitated by offset position markers made of imitation mother-of-pearl (Pearloid Neo-Classic).
Two Super Hilo'Tron pickups give the guitar a beautifully clear Gretsch tone with more profiled upper mids and higher output signal when compared to older Hilo'Tron models. Two volume potentiometers (for each pickup separately), a tone shutter, a master volume control and a three-position pickup switch are used to adjust the sound.
Precise tuning is guaranteed by fitting the strings through the plastic bone fret in the company's die-cast tuning machines and through the Adjusto-Matic tailpiece in the Bigsby B70 licensed tremolo. The stylish finish is accentuated by the sleek Aged White body binding with black and white lines, Gretsch G-Arrow potentiometer design, nickel hardware and Silver Plexi pickguard with black Gretsch logo.
