The American Vintage II 1966 Jazzmaster Dakota Red electric guitar accurately reproduces the tone and feel of the originals with a futuristic design that, while not resonating with jazz players, was all the more appreciated in '60s surf rock and later indie/alternative rock. The alder body of the guitar is covered with a glossy nitrocellulose lacquer that not only allows the wood to breathe and does not muffle its sound, but also gives the guitar a purely personal character as the years go by. A maple neck with a period-authentic "C" profile is glued to a rosewood fingerboard fitted with twenty-one Vintage Tall frets.
Two Pure Vintage '66 Jazzmaster pickups offer a truly authentic Fender sound and feel. Traditionally, Jazzmaster guitars also include electronics with two circuits (Lead and Rhythm) - in the former, both pickups are active and the character of the sound can be adjusted using the standard potentiometers, while in the Rhythm circuit only the neck pickup is active and its sound can be corrected using two rotary knobs (dials) Volume and Tone.
The strings are mounted in Pure Vintage Single Line "Fender Deluxe" tuning machines and through an adjustable cob with steel saddles in a Jazzmaster floating tremolo.
The guitar is supplied in a case.
