The Telecaster Deluxe series introduced the first purely electric (solid-body) Fender guitars fitted with two humbuckers in 1972. The same is true of the American Vintage II 1975 Telecaster Deluxe Black, where the truly authentic sound and feel of Wide-Range humbuckers is delivered by CuNiFe magnets (Fender abandoned their use in 1981). The character of the tone can be adjusted with two volume potentiometers, tone controls and a three-position switch.
The alder body of the guitar itself is covered with a glossy polyurethane lacquer. The neck with '75 "C" profile and the fingerboard with twenty-one Medium Jumbo frets are made of maple. The strings are held in Pure Vintage Tele Deluxe tuning machines and through a solid stainless steel six-saddle bridge through the body of the guitar. Stylish workmanship and period authenticity are accentuated by details such as an enlarged three-ply pickguard, large 70's Fender headstock, "Bullet style" neck bracing or neck plate with Micro-Tilt mechanism for neck adjustment.
The guitar comes in a case.
