The Gretsch G5222 Vintage White double-cut model is part of the Electromatic series. The guitar's chambered mahogany body is adorned with an arched maple top. Glued to the mahogany neck with a Thin U profile is a fig fingerboard fitted with twenty-two Medium Jumbo frets. Orientation on its surface is facilitated by offset position markers made of imitation mother-of-pearl (Neo-Classic Thumbnail).
Two Black Top Broad'Tron humbuckers give the guitar a full dynamic sound with good tone articulation and a slightly higher output signal than the Filter'Tron pickups offer, i.e. they are sonically a little closer to traditional humbuckers. Controls in the form of two volume potentiometers (for each humbucker separately), tone shutter, overall instrument volume with Treble Bleed circuit (allowing you to pull down Master Volume without accentuating bass frequencies) and a three-position pickup switch offer comprehensive control over the character of the sound.
Strings are housed in the company's Die-Cast tuning machines, Adjusto-Matic adjustable tailpiece and Gretsch V Stoptail stringers. The instrument's stylish design is accentuated by traditional elements in the form of a bright body surround complemented by black and white lines, chrome hardware and a Black Plexi pickguard with a bright Gretsch logo.
