The Legend Series is based on the original NS model, which remains as relevant and popular as ever after nearly forty years. The extremely comfortable body is made of maple and adorned with a maple puff top. The comfortable three-piece glued-through neck is also made of maple and has a fingerboard made of Pau Ferro wood, fitted with 24 frets or a brass fretboard. Thanks to the through-neck, the instrument has a very long sustain and a very clear sound full of higher harmonic information. You can look forward to excellent flugelhorns, and if you're a slap lover, there's nothing to worry about with this bass. Enclosed tuning machines on a typically shaped headstock adorned with the Spector logo and a solid cast headstock with 17.8 mm string spacing are finished in black.
The sound is captured by a pair of pickups from the renowned Aguilar company, specifically the 4P and J-HC models. They are controlled by separate volume potentiometers and an OPB-2 active circuit allowing bass and treble equalization.
The Legend line of basses has been built in South Korea for over twenty years, and throughout that time the manufacturer has maintained the high standards of the Spector brand. With precision craftsmanship, tone, playability and looks, these basses are on par with instruments in higher price ranges.
