The mahogany body of the EC-1000FR BLACK SATIN features a Satin Black finish. A three-piece mahogany neck with a set-thru construction, i.e. the neck recessed deeper into the body, is joined by an Ebony Macassar fingerboard fitted with twenty-four Extra Jumbo stainless steel frets. Orientation on its surface is facilitated by position blocks.
Two active EMG humbuckers provide the instrument's sound with the necessary fullness and precise articulation for vocal solos or chord breakdowns, while also providing density and aggression for ultra-fast guitar shred and sharply chiseled metal/core riffs. Standard adjustments include two volume knobs, a tone shield and a three-position pickup switch. The strings are housed in Grover's high-quality tuning machines and a Floyd Rose 1000SE double-reverse tremolo to add impressive sound effects to your playing. Locks on the zero fret ensure maximum tuning stability even with frequent use of the lever.
ESP has been manufacturing electric guitars since 1984 and its satisfied customers include Kirk Hammett, James Hetfield, Ronnie Wood and Max Cavalera. Due to the popularity of these instruments, a subsidiary company, LTD, has been formed to offer popular models in an affordable option. Even in the case of ESP-LTD guitars, however, great emphasis is placed on the quality of workmanship and fitted components.
