PRS Kingfisher Bass FBWB

The PRS bass guitar range is expanded for 2019 with the new Kingfisher model. It will especially please players who are no stranger to a more modern approach and novel design, but at the same time demand a maximally functional instrument. Traditional materials have been used, primarily an ash body and a maple neck, but interspersed with two layers of walnut for better stability and a more colourful sound. Moreover, the neck is not bolted but runs through the body, so you can also look forward to longer sustain and richer sound character. The rosewood fingerboard is adorned with position markings in the shape of birds in various stages of flight, a hallmark of PRS instruments.

A pair of passive humbuckers easily assert themselves in the band thanks to their distinctive mids, but the bass remains warm and concrete, the resulting sound is thick but lacks the recognisable vintage character that many modern basses lack. The hardware was provided by the renowned Hipshot company and the bass is fitted with HB6 tuning machines and a TransTone headstock. A special feature of the TransTone model is the possibility of attaching strings both directly in the headstock and through the body, so there are no limits to sound experimentation.
