Samson RS-115A

The Samson RS-115A is a 400W (200W RMS) active dual-band box with Bluetooth connectivity and USB input for Samson's XPD series wireless sets.

The Samson RS-115A active box features a very solid 400 W (200 W RMS) amplifier that is amply sufficient for most common small band events, school assemblies, or sound systems for corporate and entertainment events. With its bi-amp design (independent amplifiers for bass and treble), the RS-115A can offer high efficiency and precise presentation. The sound is reproduced by a 15" driver with extended frequency response and a 2" voice coil, which guarantees great coverage and sonic clarity while maintaining punchy bass frequencies.

The Samson RS-115A preamp box offers three channels with separate volume controls. The first two channels are fitted with a combined Jack/XLR connector, so you can easily connect a range of signals from a microphone to a keyboard or CD player. Input variability is enhanced by a mic/line sensitivity switch. An interesting feature is the presence of a compressor with a separate control for each channel. Thanks to the combined connector and sensitivity switch, the precisely adjusted input sensitivity can be further enhanced by the compressor function, thus limiting any unwanted input overshoot for dynamic peaks. This allows a higher intensity signal to be fed into the input and thus allows more room when working with the final amplifier. The third channel is equipped with a 3.5mm Jack connector and a volume control, which can also control the signal strength from the connected Bluetooth device.

On the RS-115A box we also find a USB input, which is used to directly connect a Samson XPD series wireless set. The signal from the preamp can be sent for further processing or amplification via the balanced XLR output.

The box can be placed on a stand, can be placed on the floor as a stage monitor and even features a quad of M10 points for hanging.
