D'Angelico 's Prohibition Bronze acoustic guitar strings are based on the original concept that the company came up with in its heyday. They are made from a bronze alloy with an unusual ratio of 85% copper to 15% zinc, which gives the strings a full and resonant sound with a balanced level of tonal brightness. This is why their distinctive sound can be heard on many legendary recordings from the mid-twentieth century. After the closure of the American Bethlehem Steel plant in the 1960s, their production was discontinued. But now they are back! These legendary strings harken back to the golden era of jazz in the first half of the 20th century, so you can count on them to instantly ring out your acoustic guitar with a bright and loud tone.
