The ADAM Audio S5H is a high-performance reference main monitor designed for large post-production, television, radio and recording studios.
The three-way design is oriented horizontally and features two 10" ELE bass drivers with high linear excursion, designed by ADAM Audio developers exclusively for the S Series. Like other S Series models equipped with ELE drivers, the S5H is free of unwanted low frequency distortion thanks to a Symmetrical Magnet Assembly (SMA) magnet. The midrange is provided by the new hybrid DCH driver, combining the characteristics of both cone and dome designs.
In the midrange we find the very fine S-ART tweeter, the latest variant of ADAM Audio's famous accelerated ribbon design, which is also produced to much tighter production tolerances. The speaker is coupled to a new sound pipe milled from solid aluminium, which improves directivity, efficiency, localization and extends the optimum listening zone (Mid-range and High-frequency Propagation Systems - MPS and HPS). The S5 models also feature midrange drivers on a purpose-designed milled ear canal.
The newly developed high-computing power DSP builds on the latest generation of SHARC signal processors and serves as a perfectly tuned crossover providing excellent frequency response, high dynamic range and detailed studio monitor resolution, EQ to optimize listening in a specific room, digital connectivity and the potential for future expansion.
The speaker box includes 4 separate amplifiers: 2x 700W Class D for the woofers, 300W Class D for the midrange and 100W Class A/B for the S-ART tweeter.
