The S Series bass drivers have been redesigned from the ground up. The S5V model features a 12'' driver with a new, lightweight but rigid honeycomb diaphragm, a highly efficient linear magnetic circuit with self-cooling, a linear suspension and low-loss diaphragm damping system, a symmetrical air-cooled voice coil and a new basket. Another major innovation is the 4'' midrange driver with a unique hybrid design that provides an important midrange with extreme accuracy and high resolution.
The S-ART tweeter is the latest variant of ADAM Audio's renowned accelerated ribbon design and is manufactured to much tighter production tolerances, capturing breathtaking detail in the higher frequency range. The loudspeaker is coupled to a new sound duct milled from solid aluminum, which improves directivity, efficiency, localization, and expands the optimal listening zone for simultaneous multiple-people work in large post-production rooms. The S5 models also feature midrange drivers on a purpose-designed milled sound duct.
The newly developed high-computing power DSP builds on the latest generation of SHARC signal processors and serves as a perfectly tuned crossover providing superior frequency response, high dynamic range and detailed studio monitor resolution, EQ to optimize listening in a specific room, digital connectivity and the potential for future expansion.
The speaker box includes 3 separate amplifiers: 1x 700W Class D for the woofers, 300W Class D for the midrange and 100W Class A/B for the S-ART tweeter.
