The Laney LX Series is the right choice for beginners or more advanced players, offering quality sound at an affordable price. While this is the entry-level line of guitars offered by this British manufacturer, there's certainly no reason to worry that they'll be ripped off in any way - you can expect a beautiful clean sound from the LX, as well as a very refined, heavily distorted sound and anything in between.
The LX 20R is a two-channel transistor unit that's fitted with an 8-inch-diameter driver. This makes it an ideal solution for home practice or playing with friends in smaller spaces.
All the controls can be found on the front panel. Behind the guitar input is the Volume control for adjusting the overall volume and the On switch, which activates the second channel. Use the Crunch and Master potentiometers to adjust the desired level of distortion and volume. Both channels share a common three-band EQ, and you can use the Reverb control to add space. There's a headphone output and an input for jamming with your favourite recordings or backing tracks.
