The body of the JS12 Dinky RW GWH electric guitar is made of poplar. A single-piece maple neck with graphite bracing is bolted to an amaranth (purpleheart) fingerboard fitted with twenty-four jumbo-sized frets. Positioning dots made of imitation mother-of-pearl facilitate orientation on its surface.
Two proprietary humbuckers with ceramic magnets and a high output signal give the guitar the juicy sound so much needed in metal and rock music. Volume potentiometers, tone controls and a three-position pickup switch are used for sonic adjustments. The strings are held in a synchronized tremolo with two-point anchoring and the company's Die-Cast mechanics.
For several decades, American-made Jackson electric guitars have appealed primarily to musicians in metal, metal/core, HC or djent bands who profess a loud sound with a more or less diluted dose of aggression, as evidenced by the company's roster of players.
