ZOOM UAC-2

The UAC-2 from ZOOM is a compact, dual-input sound card with a modern, ultra-fast USB 3.0 (USB 2.0 compatible) connection that offers one of the lowest latencies ever. USB 3.0 is currently the fastest connection you can give your peripherals. It's ten times faster than USB 2.0 and six times faster than FireWire 800. That's why it boasts a latency of just 2.2 ms at 96 kHZ/32 samples. In addition to speed, it offers stable data transfer resistant to computer jitter (slight time jitter). In addition, the higher voltage of USB 3.0 allows the use of higher quality AD/DA converters and preamps.

The sound card offers two XLR/TRS combo inputs into which you can plug anything from a guitar to a condenser microphone thanks to phantom power and a Hi-Z instrument switch. For both inputs you can adjust the gain level using individual potentiometers, and two LEDs are used to indicate an overdriven signal. Direct monitoring in Stereo and Mono mode is a matter of course. Two 1 symmetrical TRS jacks are used for output and MIDI inputs are also available, thanks to which you can conveniently synchronize, for example, synthesizers and other peripherals.

An important feature that you will appreciate especially when live streaming your productions (podcasts, YouTube, games) is LOOPBACK. This allows you to combine the audio signal from your computer with the signal from microphones or lines connected to the card and mix everything into one output. The individual signal levels can of course be adjusted.

The best sound quality is provided by professional Burr Brown PCM4202 A/D and AKM AK4396 DACs with quadruple upsampling, thanks to which the card achieves a high resolution of 176.4 kHz at a sampling rate of 44.1 kHz and 192 kHz at a sampling rate of 48 kHz.

The card also comes with special UAC-2 MixEfx software that, when installed on a computer (PC/MAC), offers advanced setup features such as low-cut, phase reversal, loopback settings and even adding a reverb effect to the signal (Room, Hall, Plate, Echo). There are also three memory slots where you can save your settings.

The Zoom UAC-2 is also great for recording audio into your favorite software. In case you want to get started with home recording, nothing stands in your way. The card comes with the LE version of one of the most popular DAW programs ever - Cubase.
