The SRM series speakers were the first active speakers in the Mackie range that could be described as portable. Thanks to their great sound, their technical parameters and their affordable price, they immediately gained enormous popularity. Today, the first and second generation SRMs are slowly being replaced by a third, labeled V3, which takes the capabilities of these boxes even further.
The SRM350-V3 is an active loudspeaker that, thanks to the Fast Recovery system, is capable of delivering up to 500 watts of RMS power, 400 of which goes to the 10-inch woofer and 100 to the 1.4-inch HF driver. Thanks to an intelligent Linkwitz-Riley crossover tuned to 3000 Hz, the signal in both drivers is matched to achieve optimal sound projection.
On the SRM's rear panel you'll find two XLR inputs, two 6.3mm Jack inputs and one RCA along with a parallel XLR Thru output. There are also two volume controls, each for one channel, and two switches that adjust the overall sound character and anti-feedback settings of the system. The entire system is then protected by a built-in limiter.
The SRM also has the advantage of being lightweight at just 10.4kg, with a cabinet made from highly durable polypropylene and a shape that makes it useful in any application. Due to its wide frequency range, it can also be used as a monitor, for example for vocals, as well as for bass guitar or any other instrument.
