The Performance series of acoustic guitars is the basic quality line of the Japanese manufacturer Ibanez. The PF instruments are characterized by their austere design and focus on sound and playability. They represent a good choice of a first instrument for complete beginners and a companion for travel, recreation, etc.
This guitar is equipped with Ibanez AEQ-2T electronics with integrated tuner and underbody piezo pickup. The guitar's layered body is made of spruce front and okoumé back and sides. A 20-fret fig fingerboard is glued to the exotic nyatoh wood neck. The resonance of the body is supported by the traditional X ribbing, and position dots facilitate orientation around the fingerboard surface. A black pickguard protects the instrument's wood from scratches.
The strings are held in chrome Die-Cast tuners and a figwood fingerboard with Ibanez Advantage pegs, which are easier to handle than standard models. In addition, the string and pegs hold firmly in the optimum position, i.e. there is no peg wobble as the string tension increases. The guitar's peg is shaped to optimally transmit the vibrations of the string to achieve the best possible sound.
