Yamaha Revstar electric guitars are a tribute to Yamaha's motorcycle division, specifically the modified "café racer" bikes of the 1960s and 1970s, which inspired the guitars' body shape and color finishes. A retro look influenced by the motorcycle and guitar designs of the 60s and 70s meets modern elements in their bodies - making Yamaha Revstar guitars fit the demands of today's musicians.
The Revstar Revstar RSP20X RB electric guitar is part of the high-end Revstar Professional line of instruments made in Japan. The guitar's chambered two-piece mahogany body is decorated with a maple top and glossy polyurethane lacquer. The chambered body reduces weight and improves the resonance of the instrument. A special process called I.R.A. (Initial Response Acceleration) simulates the effect of natural aging and gives the guitar the sound and feel of an instrument played for years. Glued to the three-piece carbon-braced mahogany neck is a rosewood fingerboard fitted with twenty-two jumbo-size stainless steel frets.
Two Yamaha VH5 "vintage-style" humbuckers give the guitar a warm, full sound balanced across the frequency spectrum that you'll appreciate in a wide range of musical styles - from jazz and blues to modern rock. The instrument's sonic arsenal is expanded by the push/pull tone shutter function, whereby lifting the knob gives the guitar a more aggressive "overwound" pickup character with accentuated mids and bass (passive boost). In addition to the classic combinations, the five-position switch offers the specific sound of pickups plugged out of phase in positions 2 and 4.
Stable tuning is guaranteed by the fitting of the strings in the company's die-cast mechanics and the TOM and strings cob. The stylish look of the instrument is accentuated by the pickguard made of anodized aluminium in Satin Gold finish and the perimeter binding colour-coordinated with the gold racing stripes on the top of the guitar.
The guitar comes in a hardcase.
