Yamaha FGX3

Yamaha's FG/FS Red Label acoustic and electroacoustic guitars represent an interesting combination of classic design (based on the FG180 models introduced in 1966) and modern features. These are well crafted all-mass instruments in the popular Dreadnought "western" shape, which should not escape the attention of contemporary songwriters and folk musicians.

The front plate of the FGX3II electroacoustic guitar is made of solid Sitka spruce, which has undergone A.R.E. (Acoustic Resonance Enhancement) technological treatment at the molecular level before assembly. Through precise control of temperature, humidity and atmospheric pressure, the wood achieves acoustic qualities comparable to an instrument that has been actively played for many years. You get your hands on a guitar with "won" wood.

The back and sides are made of solid mahogany. The acoustic properties are raised to a higher level by the new design of the reduced X ribbing. An ebony fingerboard with 20 frets is glued to the mahogany neck. The stability of tuning is guaranteed by the attachment of the strings via the Urea zero fret in the Gotoh tuning machines and the ebony fingerboard.

The Atmosfeel preamp offers a unique triple sound sensing method using a sub-cellular piezo pickup, a microphone capsule and a pickup/sensor attached to the top of the guitar. This allows the guitar to offer a full natural acoustic sound balanced across the entire frequency spectrum, even when voiced. Three knobs subtly placed in the back of the guitar allow you to control the volume, adjust the microphone/sensor pickup ratio and shape the tone colour to your liking.

The stylish look of the instrument is accentuated by details derived from the half-century-old originals, i.e. semi-gloss finish, "V" headstock shape adorned with the famous "tuning fork" logo, and traditional decorative elements in the form of black and white body trim and black pickguard.
