Yamaha's CPX Series acoustic guitars are especially popular for their larger Medium-Jumbo body with a cutaway, which provides players with the comfort they need and gives the instrument a resonant, frequency-balanced sound with rich bass. The soundboard is supported by a special non-recessed ribbing that enhances its resonant qualities and natural tone.
One of the entry-level lines, the 600 Series, offers guitars with a layered body composed of a spruce soundboard and a back and sides made of the currently available material/wood (Locally Sourced Tonewood). Also worth mentioning are the rosewood fingerboard and headstock, the company's Die-Cast tuning machines or the decorative elements in the form of imitation ivory binding and rosette composed of mother-of-pearl ring and ABS lines.
The amplification of the acoustic sound is taken care of by a preamp with a three-band equalizer and an integrated tuner built into the instrument's back and an SRT piezo pickup that picks up each one separately. The result is an ultra-clear signal with significantly better dynamic response than standard piezo pickup models.
