The WA-47 is a tube, condenser microphone and a sonically unrecognizable clone of another famous microphone with the number 47 in its name (blue people already know and if they don't know, google it). It will find use in almost all studio applications, thanks to its adjustable characteristics (cardioid, spherical, figure of eight and 6 hybrid).
In the production of this microphone, everything was subordinated to make it indistinguishable from its predecessor. And judging by the enthusiastic feedback from sound engineers and trade magazines, it has succeeded perfectly.
The design of the microphone is dominated by a precision-engineered, custom-made capsule that mimics the original k47 in both the number of holes and their layout, and the frequency response. This is followed by the Slovakian JJ5751 tube, which gets much more detail out of the capsule than more powerful tubes thanks to its lower gain and noise. Creamy highs and dense lows are provided by the American-made TAB-Funkenwerk (AMI) transformer, and a 7-pin cable from Swiss Gotham Audio (GAC-7) or a collection of carefully selected capacitors round out the collection of excellent parameters.
The result will surprise even experienced sound engineers.
