The instruments of the "Antique" model series are handmade from solid, beautifully figured Carpathian maple wood used as standard for the soundboard, neck and sides. High-quality Alpine spruce wood for the top and select ebony for the fingerboard, pegs and chinrest. Stringers with built-in tuners make it easy to fine tune the tone.
The instruments are varnished in an old Schoenbach style spirit varnish with a distinctive lacquer wash. The use of Aubert's French model locusts accentuates the high quality of the instruments.
Dominant strings from the Austrian company Thomastik-Infeld are used as standard for the violin. Dominant violin strings are one of the most sought after sets ever. The time-tested construction with a multifilament synthetic core offers a clear, soft tone rich in higher harmonics and stable tuning. This set can be considered a "reference standard" and can be a good starting point when looking for new sound possibilities of strings made from modern synthetic materials and their modifications.
