The Torpedo Captor is a reactive loadbox with attenuator, DI output and built-in speaker simulation in a compact, larger DI box format that lets you turn up the heat in the studio and on stage without driving your sound engineer and yourself to despair. It offers two outputs to external cabinets (one with a fixed attenuation of -20 dB), as well as the option to replace them entirely by outputting directly via DI XLR to a mixing desk or via line output to a DAW. The reactive loadbox perfectly mimics the impedance of a speaker, so your amp will live in the belief that it's connected to a real speaker. On stage, you'll appreciate the built-in switchable cabinet simulation (GTR, BASS and OFF modes) derived from Le Preamp's successful line of compact guitar preamps.
Thanks to the aforementioned compact form factor, you can fit the Torpedo Captor into a pedalboard (where it can keep company with the Torpedo C.A.B. M's extensive database of virtual cabinets) or place it on an amp. The Captor is available in three versions (4 Ohm, 8 Ohm, 16 Ohm) so that the impedance matches the output of your amp.
Included with your purchase is access to sixteen virtual Wall Of Sound (WoS) plug-in cabinets. Simply register your purchase on the manufacturer's website and download and install the WoS plug-in.
Torpedo Captor reactive loadboxes work seamlessly with amplifiers up to 100 watts (Input 100W RMS MAX). When connecting an apparatus with more power than 100W, the output volume of the amplifier should be taken into account. A 9-24V DC center negative adapter or phantom power (48V) can be used to power the load box.
