Turbosound TFX122M-AN

The Turbosound TFX122M-AN is a coaxial dual-band 12" active stage monitor with 1100 W of power, featuring a Klark Teknik DSP unit and ULTRANET network interface. This dual-band full-range loudspeaker system is ideally suited for a wide range of speech and music monitoring applications where it provides optimum performance.

Turbosound is recognized worldwide for designing and manufacturing some of the most iconic speakers and subwoofers. It maintains this reputation meticulously and its use of only specially designed transducers for each application sets it apart from the competition. The TFX122M-AN features a 12" woofer with a special voice coil for better transient transmission and improved transient response. A 1" high-frequency compression driver with titanium dome is mounted in the center of the waveguide to provide horizontal dispersion over a 60° x 40° range.

The TFX122M-AN features a highly efficient Class-D amplifier from Klark Teknik and delivers an impressive 1100 W of output power in a highly portable and lightweight design. Class D amplification is essential as it offers maximum energy efficiency and eliminates the need for heavy power supplies and large heat sinks.

A high degree of control over the speaker system's performance is provided by KLARK TEKNIK's sophisticated but easy-to-use digital signal processor (DSP), which provides a dynamic equalizer and transparent limiter for maximum clarity and definition at high output levels.

Connection to the ULTRANET network is provided by two lockable RJ45 connectors. A single CAT5 cable can transmit up to 16 independent channels of 24-bit digital audio and control data between compatible digital devices - including mixing consoles, stage I/O boxes, active speakers and personal monitoring systems. Simplified cable management and easy setup translate directly into significant time savings during installation.

The rear panel of the amplifier module features a user interface with an LCD display and a single rotary knob, allowing intuitive access to user adjustable equalizer, subwoofer integration and signal routing functions. In addition to a balanced XLR/Jack 6.3 mm (F, female) combo input, an XLR (M, male) output is available for daisy chaining multiple active speakers or for connecting with an active subwoofer. A built-in USB port provides access to remote control of the TFX122M-AN via free software, and is also used for convenient DSP firmware updates.

The monitor cabinet is finished in a highly durable semi-matte black paint and is constructed of 15 mm (5/8") plywood with fiberglass-reinforced composite faceplates and a rugged powder-coated perforated steel mesh grille backed with mesh foam. The TFX122M-AN includes a convenient pole-mount socket for use with 35mm speaker stands and a durable handle for easy transport. The low-profile design of the TFX122M-AN provides better visibility for the listener.
