The K.O.II is a versatile sampler that aspires to become a champion in and out of the studio. With an impressive feature set, it gives you access to workflows that let you go from idea to finished track faster than ever before. Record the sounds around you, sample your voice, favorite synths, vinyl records or anything else, and use the sequencer to create musical loops and patterning. Take advantage of the carefully selected drum, bass and keyboard samples that come preloaded in K.O. II, automate filter settings, pitch or add stereo effects or next-generation dynamic processes and punch-in effects.

K.O. II has 64 MB of memory and a total of 999 slots available for various samples. The handy internal microphone for recording your own audio as well as the built-in speaker are more likely to be used on the go. You can create with Teenage Engineering's typically extensive toolkit. Approximately half of the device's storage is filled with pre-recorded samples. You can work on nine different projects, each containing 4 groups / 99 patterns. Patterns have 12 tracks for samples and MIDI, with variable length sequences within groups (1 to 99 bars). It is possible to sequence manually or use quantization with the swing algorithm. Polyphony reaches 12 voices in the case of MONO resolution and half, or 6 voices in the case of STEREO. Automation can be recorded within the 12 assigned faders. 12 volume-sensitive pads can be assigned to one of the 16 MIDI channels. Select parts of samples manually with the Slice function in real time or with automation. Internal processing is 32-bit, AD and DA converters are 24-bit, and you can use 6 built-in send effects and a master compressor to modify the sound.

You can power the sampler with a USB-C cable or use four AAA batteries on the go, its compact size and light weight encourage you to do just that. It can be connected to MIDI-enabled devices and also take advantage of synchronization, plug into a computer, or work with almost any connected audio device.

The device is dominated by traditional Teenage Engineering design, so all components are not only functional, but also of high quality and perfect to look at. The guide to all the features the K.O.II has to offer will undoubtedly be the innovative super segmented hybrid display. In terms of music making, the K.O. II is much more capable than its predecessor in the form of a handheld operator, while it should also be easier for brand new users and complete beginners.
