Tech 21 Richie Kotzen RK5 Signature Fly Rig (v2)

(1) Guitar Multi-Effect / HN200254
The RK5 Fly Rig V2 is the second version of Ritchie Kotzen's signature multieffect/pre-amp from Tech 21. The new version reflects the changes in Kotzen's requirements, which he came to on the basis of numerous concert experiences.

The basis of the multieffect is the SansAmp tube emulator (SansAmp section), which is now not activated by a footswitch but by a separate on/off button. As in the previous version, it offers a superbly clear tone with audio editing options in the form of a three-band EQ and controls for output volume (Level) and draw rate (Drive). However, the multieffect options don't end there.

You can add considerably more punch to your tone by adding a separate Pre-Boost with a 12dB signal boost (ideal for guitar solos) and activating the OMG section with an overdrive/distortion sound based on the OMG's signature RK box, emulating the sound of Class A single-ended tube amps. By layering a decent amount of drive SansAmp section, booster and OMG overdrive, you achieve an extra juicy cascading rock sound.

The Fuzz switch in the OMG section turns the overdrive into the characteristic fat hairy fuzz effect sound. The optional old school analog FET compressor in the Boost section adds more warmth, transparency and overall musicality to your guitar sound.

The RK5 V2 version now offers a separately switchable Reverb with a separate knob and Size button to choose between the acoustic characteristics of larger or smaller spaces. Hold down the footswitch to activate the chromatic tuner. The Delay section with its corresponding Tap/Speed switch offers a Rotary effect (Leslie cab simulation) in addition to a delay effect with vintage tape echo character. The character of the selected effect can be changed by adjusting the Level, Repeats, Drift, Time knobs and by using the footswitch with Tap Tempo/Speed function. The function of each control changes depending on the selected effect type.

The multi-effect now offers a convenient balanced XLR DI output.

Add to all of the above features the pluses of simple footswitch control and backlit potentiometers, a robust construction with metal switches (studio-grade) and input jacks. You'll not only have a quality multi-effect at hand, but also a backup machine in case your brand new or "true and truly" vintage amp/combo "goes down" (not that we wish it).

The included 9V adapter is used to power the multieffect.
