The TC Helicon MP-85 is a dynamic microphone with a supercardioid pickup characteristic and Mic Control function designed specifically for singers and also users of the TC Helicon family of vocal effects units.

Mic Control is a convenient solution for controlling the selected effect or function of your TC Helicon effects processor using a button located directly on the microphone body. What the button will control and when the effects will activate is up to you, and you may as well be on the other side of the stage 10m away from your effects processor. Transmitting the command through the plate towards the effects unit works via a regular XLR microphone cable.

The MP-85 is fitted with a Lismer supercardioid dynamic capsule that provides a wide sensitivity range and powerful output. A dual-material membrane with a lightweight and rigid section produces optimum high-frequency response. This means that you get a very balanced vocal tone that easily asserts itself in the mix.

The microphone has been designed to provide the best off-axis feedback suppression in its class, and the same care has been used in tuning the frequency response curve at very high frequencies that could adversely affect, for example, harmony production. The microphone is made with a very durable construction and a specially heat-treated protective grille, making it up to ten times stronger than the world's most popular microphones.
